Turkish Embassy Holds Republic Day Celebration

The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Riyadh celebrated the 96th anniversary of the October 29 Republic Day with great joy and happiness. On behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Undersecretary of the Riyadh Governorate Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudairy attended the Republic Day Reception which was hosted by Turkish Ambassador Mr. Erdo?an Kök and his spouse Mrs. Sermin Kök. Ambassadors, diplomats, Saudi officials, businesspersons and members of the Turkish community in Saudi Arabia were also present at the reception.

An outstanding performance of the national anthems of Turkey and KSA by the Riyadh International Turkish School’s students commenced the event. Following the anthems and speeches, Ambassador Kök and Undersecretary Al-Sudairy cut a cake celebrating the day.

In his speech, Ambassador Kök stated that 2019 also marked the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and KSA. He stressed that historic, economic, cultural, and social ties between the two countries created a unique opportunity to maintain and ever-improve an exclusive relationship. He expressed Turkey’s full support to the stability and security of the brotherly country of Saudi Arabia and strong condemnation of all terrorist attacks against the Kingdom.

Ambassador Kök also reiterated Turkey’s support to the reforms and development efforts in the Kingdom which have been carried out under the wise and exemplary leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He extended his gratitude to all Saudi officials for their kind reception and support to the Turkish missions and people in KSA, and for their invaluable efforts during the Hajj performance.

The speech was followed by rich and delicious Turkish food and refreshments.
