No space and time to exercise? No problem! Turn your office chair into a “fitness equipment” by following these exercises recommended by elite personal trainer Mohammed Azheruddin.

When it comes to staying in shape, most of us know exactly what it takes. But for people who are working 8- to 10-hour days, inserting exercise in between those hectic hours may seem impossible. When the alarm goes off at 5 in the morning, it’s just not happening.

For advice on keeping fit with a busy schedule, we turned to Mohammed Azheruddin, an American College of Sports Medicine-certified, elite personal trainer in Riyadh. Given the hectic schedules of his high-profile clientele, Azher knows that working out at the gym is not always possible. So he supplements his clients’ gym-based training with a customized program that can be done in a small office or area using only a chair. “I encourage my clients to look past the obstacles and to commit to doing something good for themselves every day. No one is so busy that they don’t have 30 minutes a day to exercise,” he says.

“Everyone has the time if they make time for it.” But can we really get a total body workout by exercising in the office?

Azher promises that his 30-minute sequence, consisting of combination of stretching and body weight exercises, can maintain your fitness until you can get back to hitting it hard in the gym. “These exercises will not make you lose weight. But they will keep you from gaining weight,” he says. Here are some of his favorite total body exercises for those who are tight on space and time.
