Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a Saudi artist who was born and raised in Riyadh. I re- ceived my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Virginia. I started drawing since I was 19 or 20 and even while in the US, I took the art courses available at my university.

What do you like most about the DQ?

I love that there are people from so many different cultures. Living here has also provided me with more opportunities to share my art as I get invited to exhibitions and events that take place in the embassies.

Tell us a little about your work.

I started painting as a hobby. I soon started participating in exhibitions within and outside Saudi Arabia. I practice painting, as a branch of fine arts and visual arts. I enjoy working on abstract, plastic and caricature artistic styles. Since I started I’ve been grateful to take part in exhibitions in across the Kingdom and in London, Washington and Abu Dhabi. I’ve also received many offers to produce paintings for many businesses like hotels, palaces, hospitals, clinics, gyms, cafes, restaurants and even special personal orders for some clients’ homes. I’ve really enjoyed all these experiences. I constantly share my art on Twitter and Instagram and I’d love for you all to check them out at @Miish_art. I can also be contacted personally regarding my art on 0550388113.

Can you describe your typical day for us?

I love to wake up early, get a good work out done and then I begin drawing. I work on my art projects throughout the day and then spend my evenings with family and friends.

What is something you wish the DQ had but currently doesn’t?

I wish we had more hotels and restaurants of all kinds of food, including Saudi food. I also really look forward to having a barber shop here.

Where are your favorite places to visit in Riyadh?

I’d have to say my home is my favorite place in Riyadh, of course. When I’m spending time in the DQ, I really enjoy the plazas – Kindi and Fazari. When outside the DQ, I enjoy camping in the desert and visiting the Diriyah palace.

What are you looking forward to in the coming season?

There are just so many exhibitions and events coming up and I’m so excited for them all. I’m also planning leisure travel for the summer and I’m really looking forward to that.
