Celebrated on June 27, Djibouti Independence Day is a national holiday marking the country’s declaration of independence from France in 1977. The event features the flying of the Djibouti national flag, parades, speeches by the President and Prime Minister, and various cultural and entertainment programs. Modern Djibouti is located near some of the world’s busiest shipping lanes, offering access to the Red Sea and Indian Ocean. On this historical occasion of the 48th Independence and National Day of the Republic of Djibouti, H.E. Ambassador and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama, hosted a reception. In his speech, Ambassador Bamakhrama highlighted the remarkable achievements of Djibouti over the past five decades, particularly in security, stability, and sustainable development. He emphasized the deep and sincere fraternal relations uniting the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia and Djibouti.

H.E. Dya-Eddine Bamakhrama reflected on the importance of global peace as a cornerstone of prosperity and progress, both within escalation zones and beyond. He reaffirmed Djibouti’s commitment to calm, constructive, and principled diplomacy, promoting peace in the region and worldwide, rejecting wars, and advocating for dialogue,  and development. The event was honored by the presence of HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Saud and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Riyadh Region. The celebration was attended by Saudi officials, ambassadors, heads of missions, as well as distinguished businessmen, media professionals, artists, and dear friends.
