His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region, inaugurated FoodSphere, the first in a series of Riyadh Oases projects. The launch is part of a collaboration between Riyadh Municipality and Riyadh Holding, creating an interactive space in the city that combines scientific knowledge, education and entertainment to enhance community engagement.

FoodSphere, located on Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Street (Tahlia), is a destination that celebrates the cultural heritage of food in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The oasis offers an exceptional experience for visitors to explore new horizons in the world of food. It takes guests on a journey of discovery within the future of innovation, the fundamental connections that shape our food ecosystem and the sustainable future of the city. FoodSphere will offer innovative and interactive workshops for the community and aims to create awareness around Saudi food heritage whilst blending traditional culture with the latest advanced concepts.

FoodSphere spans over an area of 11,000 square meters and features three indoor zones. This includes the Apiary Exhibition, that educates visitors on the role of bees in agriculture, sustainability, and biodiversity. As well as the Dates, Coffee & Hospitality Exhibition which explores the deep-rooted coffee culture in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East’s hospitality tradition. Thirdly, the Biosphere: The Future of Food, which investigates food sustainability, innovations in agriculture, and the fragile balance of ecosystems, symbolized by butterflies.

Riyadh Oases is a visionary initiative aimed at developing eight world-class edutainment centers, seamlessly merging education and entertainment to create transformative experiences. These centers serve as social and cultural hubs that foster community engagement, learning, and inspiration. Each oasis is uniquely themed, covering topics such as food, nature, space, and sports, ensuring an enriching and engaging experience for all visitors.

The Riyadh Oases project holds significant importance for Riyadh and represents a step towards improving community engagement and entertainment in the capital. The oases provide an enriching environment that combines education and fun, making Riyadh a destination for a culture of exploration and innovation for all segments of society.

Both FoodSphere and Riyadh Oases align with the Quality of Life Program, one of the fundamental pillars of Vision 2030. The oases symbolize Riyadh’s commitment to balancing tradition and modernity, offering a glimpse into the future of urban living while maintaining a connection to the city’s rich cultural heritage.

The eight oases will be inaugurated over the coming years, distributed across various neighborhoods of Riyadh. This strategic distribution aims to maximize the impact and benefits of the oases, making them the social, cultural, and educational heartbeat of different districts.
