More than a ride, it’s a party on a bike!

How would you like to be energized, motivated, and look your best? If the treadmill and free weights aren’t doing it for you, we understand. Working out doesn’t have to be boring and lackluster. New innovative concepts such as SoCycle mix energy pumping music with group cycling and exercise will take you on an exhilarating fitness ride!

SoCycle is a 45-minute high-intensity cardio workout designed to challenge your body and mind. The heart-pumping workout is known for building endurance and stamina while enhancing mental well-being. As Trainer Ajay explains, “The Socycle room transforms you; if you are in a mood or having an off day, when the music comes on, it takes you to another pace.”

Traditional indoor cycling only focuses on the legs, but Socycle also incorporates upper body movements such as push-ups and arm swings, making for a challenging full body workout.

Everything you need is provided for you at Socycle. All you have to do is get there. Simply call the studio and book your first free session. When you arrive, the friendly and helpful staff will check you in, give you your proper shoe size, heat rate monitor, and show you to your designated locker. Once you are ready to go, you can make your way to the cycling room, which could be mistaken for a nightclub if it weren’t for the bikes! Your bike number will be the same as your locker number. The bikes can be intimidating at first glance, but a trainer or assistant will show you how to sit on the bike and adjust the resistance. A towel and water bottle are already provided for you on your bike…and you will need them!

When it’s time for the class, the trainer greets everyone with words of motivation, the music starts, and feet begin pedaling. The emphasis is on the music and riding to the rhythm of the beat. You can easily spot the seasoned Socylers who immediately start synching with the rhythm. If that’s not you, don’t worry, you will get there too!

Playlists are chosen meticulously by each trainer, who are known for their musical preferences. Varying speeds and resistance are chosen for each song. As the class progresses, sweat pours, hearts pump and everything that was on your mind when you come into the class disappears into the music. Focus is on the body and pushing past your self-limiting boundaries. As trainer Rose explains “your mind gives up before your body. Your trainer and other soscyclers will motivate you to push harder.” In the dark, club-like room, the only light comes from the screens that are displayed for socyclers to track their progress and promote friendly competition.

After the class, the energy and enthusiasm are palpable. You can feel the sense of community that arises from the collective desire to push limits and work towards a common goal of health, strength, and wellbeing. “Socycle is something customers do for themselves. We are a family here, and this is a safe place to escape the pressures of life,” says trainer Fraga. The healthy lifestyle that Socycle promotes is being enjoyed by many women in Riyadh for the first time.

Socycle brand manager Ms. Norah Alhader is committed to enhancing the customer experience and keeping the concept fresh and exciting. Every Wednesday is a theme ride. Past themes have included Music Fest, Tropical, and Glow in the Dark. Customers wait in anticipation for the unveiling of the theme 24 hours before the class. You will be lucky to book a seat, because the theme rides are often sold out.

Let’s face it, life today is hectic and busy. Even if an exercise like Socycle offers tremendous benefits, noone wants to drive all over town for a 45 minute workout. Thankfully, the Socycle studio in Rubeen Plaza is only 15 minutes from the Diplomatic Quarter. The convenient location with ample parking in the lower garage makes for a quick and hassle-free experience.

Furthermore, the first class is free! There is no excuse not to try this soul-pumping experience.
