Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland celebrated joint Nordic National Day hosted by ambassadors HE Jan Knutsson, HE Oyvind Stokke, HE Ole E. Moesby, and HE Antti Rytˆvuori on April 3, 2019 at the Cultural Palace. His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region attended the joint ceremony as a guest of honor.

The National Day reception was the first time that the countries organized a national event together. The event represented Nordic cooperation and strong ties between Nordic countries. The formal cooperation between the Nordic countries is among the oldest and most extensive regional partnerships in the world: Nordic Council was established in 1952. They share common values such as equality, sustainability, freedom of expression, solidarity, rule of law, and active popular movements and civil society organizations. The countries are also united by a joint history, a similar culture and societal system, and Nordic languages. Together they form the 11th largest economy in the world, and top many international rankings in transparency, trust, freedom of speech, the environment, and happiness.

The four Nordic countries work closely together. Recently, they had a joint booth at the Riyadh Travel Fair 2019, promoting the Nordics as a travel destination.
