Where in the world can you see a residential quarter with an equestrian club in its backyard? The Al Aghar Equestrian Club in the Diplomatic Quarter is where the community and guests alike can enjoy horseback riding in a fun, safe environment.

If you look at the map of the Diplomatic Quarter (DQ), an area in the northern edge of the place is devoted to the Al Aghar Equestrian Club, an equestrian and training club that also entertains and offers some of the finest hospitality services in the DQ.

The Al Aghar Equestrian Club, founded in 1990, covers an area of 60,000 square meters making it one of the largest equestrian clubs in Saudi Arabia. The club, owned by the Equestrian Trade & Services, is an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The location is ideal for a quick trip to the best outdoor that the DQ can offer. Off DQ’s roundabout 1 leads to a short winding path, over a small stream that has water during winter and a dry bed on the summer. Welcoming members and guests are greeneries that begin a journey closer to nature. The bougainvillea near the stables enliven the place with its bright pink flowers. Sounds of the horses fills the air and the white fences of the course beckon.

It’s easy to see why this equestrian club is a favorite recreation place of kids and adults alike, who may or may not have a huge interest in horseback riding. There’s something for everyone.

Al Aghar Club has several programs for horseback riding lessons that are suitable for all ages. They aim to help riders attain and improve their knowledge and skills. Memberships are usually given in sessions and packages. Guests who just want to try riding a horse are also welcomed with hourly rates. Equipment like helmets can be rented in the club. They provide trained horses and a group of professional coaches whose training, education, and experience meet global standards.

The club also holds competitions and events from time to time. They stage the Al Aghar Club Horse Jumping League which consists of five jumping rounds from 40-60 cm height to 1-1.10 meter height. They also have the Children’s Chairs Event that accommodates children from 5 to 14 years of age. Every summer, the club opens its doors and hosts the Al Aghar Summer Camp which allows children to develop their talents and practice their hobbies like swimming, taekwondo, and some arts and crafts.

Al Aghar Club offers horse owners a horse livery service. Their qualified stable can be homes to horses; a place where they can feel safest in their own space. The horses are fed and groomed in an environment where they feel most comfortable. Their stable can accommodate 60 horses at a time. Full-time veterinarians are around to ensure good health and safety.

Apart from horseback riding and caring for horses, the club also rents out their facilities and amenities for events and gatherings. Private celebrations can be done in their outdoor pool area or in their function rooms. Their outdoor café with its traditional Bedouin-style design, can be used as a venue.

Residents of the Diplomatic Quarter are offered discounts on their membership and rental fees. For individual packages, 5% discounted is given on membership fee and 10% discount on place rental. If a group of 10 residents enrolls, a discount of 10% will be deducted from the membership fee and 40% on rental fees.

The Al Aghar Club is a great center whether you are just horseback riding for fun or for profession. The place is great for parties and celebrations too. If you’re in the DQ, a good gallop is just a few minutes away.
