Music is an art. It is a creative process that lends its prowess to things to make them more powerful in reflecting and influencing human emotion. Like when music mixes with words to make a song, or to go along with movements to make a dance. Music is also considered as the greatest communication in the world. Even when we have different languages and we can’t understand each other, we all know good music when we hear it and chances are, we bond over it.
The Hijaz region in Saudi Arabia is considered as the birthplace of Arabic music, where poetry were presented by singing. Singing and playing Arabic instruments were strongly present during nights of Bedouin gatherings. Based on the rich history of Saudi music and the current demand to learn more about it, the idea of establishing a music school came to be.
As one of the first musical institutes established in Saudi Arabia and the first one licensed by the Saudi Ministry of Culture, Music Home School of Art aims to provide standard musical education, opportunities to develop talents, and openings for investors in the music field.
Currently, the school is offering a broad range of musical education, including long and short ones, that are approved by the Ministry of Culture and the Technical Training Association. The lessons are carried out by professional teachers of different nationalities who hold higher qualifications and are fluent in various languages, including Arabic and English. They also have years of experience in teaching their craft.
The institute receives students of all ages, backgrounds, and levels. Their curricula are international and designed specifically to start with beginners on their way to becoming highly-skilled musicians.
Nowadays, they are providing long and short courses in playing the piano, guitar, violin, Oud, and Qanun. They also offer singing lessons, ballet lessons, and music healing sessions.
Two of the most in demand musical instruments at Music Home are the Oud and Qanun. These are stringed instruments that are significant in Saudi culture due to its origin in the Arab world. They are essential within the Arab musical ensemble, as well as being key instruments in Arab musical Maqams, a system of melodic modes used in traditional Arabic music.
The Music Home School of Art also focuses on educating about the musical heritage of Saudi Arabia. They feature Saudi artists who have distinguished themselves in the field of oriental Arabic music by highlighting their work. aSaudi Arabia remains to be a fertile ground for musical scientific research and musical documentation.
