The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), in collaboration with Broadway Entertainment Group, is entering the final countdown as WICKED The Musical arrives in the capital this week for its long-awaited Middle East debut at the King Fahad Cultural Center.
With the cast, orchestra, and creative team now landing in Riyadh, preparations are in full swing. Over the next few days, the production will undergo intensive rehearsals, sound checks, and final technical set-ups as the team gets ready to welcome audiences to Oz for the very first time in the region.
Arriving as one of the largest and most spectacular versions of WICKED ever staged, the Riyadh run brings together over 100 cast, crew, and orchestra members, supported by 11 trucks of sets, props, and special-effects equipment. The show also features 350+ costumes, 1000+ costume pieces, 166 pairs of shoes, and an orchestra playing 35 instruments to create the signature WICKED sound. In total, the team has completed more than 400 hours of rehearsal to prepare for opening week.
\Audiences can expect breathtaking new visuals, reimagined effects created especially for the region, and unforgettable moments such as Elphaba’s famous transformation and Glinda’s shimmering bubble entrance.
