The celebration of this year’s Saudi National Day is part of the Saudi Seasons aimed at transforming the Kingdom into one of the most important tourist destinations in the world. The Saudi National Day, celebrated every September 23, commemorates the unification of Saudi Arabia under its present name by its founder, King Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.
The 89th Saudi National Day saw a lot of entertainment events all over the Kingdom. But more than that, this special day celebrated how far Saudi Arabia has come in terms of modernization and progress that promote peace, security, and success for its land and people. The Kingdom continues to expand its diversification to build a stronger economy that is not solely dependent on oil. The Kingdom has achieved so much under HRH Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
The 89th Saudi National Day comprises of various Al-Hemma events in different cities in the Kingdom from Riyadh to Jeddah and Dammam to Buraydah, Skaka, and Abha. There were fireworks in major landmarks. International entertainment shows like Cirque De Soleil and The Star Show were staged to the delight of the crowd. Various workshops like calligraphy, stamp-making, oud playing, metal crafting, painting, muzmar dancing, and more were held.
One of the highlights was the air show by the Saudi Hawks, the Royal Saudi Air Force Aerobatic Team. The team launched into the sky and performed exhibitions with the crowds below cheering loudly. They performed in the skies of Alkhobar, Jeddah, and Riyadh. All of these were enjoyed by locals and expats alike during the four-day holiday.
