On the occasion of Thailand National Day, the Royal Thai Embassy hosted a magnificent reception led by H.E. Ambassador Darm Boontham and Mrs. Anthika Boontham. The auspicious occasion celebrated the anniversary of the birth of His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great of Thailand, which is also the Father’s Day and the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Throughout his reign, His Late Majesty King Bhumibol ruled the country with righteousness and dedication, culminating in over four thousand development projects, which had immensely contributed to the well-being of all Thai citizens. With such a solid foundation, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua resolved to continue, preserve and develop the legacy of His Majesty’s Father in creating happiness, stability and sustainability for all Thai citizens.

“Soil nourishes plants, just as friendship and dialogue strengthen Thai-Saudi relations. If 2023 was a year of preparing the soil and sowing seeds for this renewed partnership, 2024 has been the year in which these efforts have flourished. 2024 maintained the momentum in the Thai-Saudi relationship, with continued exchange of high-level visits,” stated Ambassador Darm Boontham in his speech.

Ambassador Boontham further recalled official visits that aim to further strengthen Saudi-Thai ties. Thus, Saudi Arabia welcomed Thailand’s Minister of Industry and Speaker of the House in January, followed by the Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister in July. Other notable visits included two Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs, and the Sheikhul Islam of Thailand. Meanwhile, Bangkok had the privilege of welcoming Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Commerce.

“Our business activities continue to thrive, particularly through joint investments in renewable energy, automotive parts, and construction materials, which are in line with the investment priorities under Saudi Vision 2030. As the partnership between our two Kingdoms continues to grow stronger, the Royal Thai Embassy remains proactive,” highlighted Ambassador Darm Boontham.

H.E. Boontham wished good health, longevity, happiness, and prosperity to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua of Thailand, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister. Ambassador Darm Boontham concluded his remarks by extending gratitude to Saudi friends and the honoured members of the Diplomatic Corps for their unwavering friendship and support, as well as the dedicated staff of the Royal Thai Embassy. Guests enjoyed a delightful cultural evening, complete with enchanting performances and exquisite Thai cuisine.
