Long before the popularity of various modern restaurants in the streets of Riyadh, Steak House was already a pioneer in providing a robust, casual dining experience to Saudi Arabia in 1992. It has kept true to its roots through the years, maintaining the ambiance of a traditional steak house but with modern seating and décor. It has built itself as a household name for its reliable menu of diverse appetizers and steak selections, which they update consistently by introducing exciting items such as their Southwestern Nachos, vegetarian options and their now signature item, the Black Rock Steaks.
“In our 25th year, STEAK HOUSE is very proud to launch our best menu to date! With over 20 innovative appetizers, a dozen steak offerings, and over a 100 menu selections to choose from, we aim to please all members of the family. And, of course, a visit to STEAK HOUSE is not complete without our famous Soup & Fresh Salad Bar!” – Steve Skoien, CEO of Alfa Co.
What makes patrons come back for more is the congenial service and all-for-one environment that makes it an easy choice to spend a weekend dinner or any special occasion feast. From an all-guys’ or family night out, Steak House appeals to everyone, and their multiple wins as “Best Restaurant in Saudi Arabia” at the Saudi Excellence in Tourism Awards solidifies just that. They recently celebrated their 25th Anniversary last October with much fanfare along with launching a brand-spanking-new menu that boasts of over 100 items.
The best bets I’ve tried from it were the Spicy Jumbo Shrimp and the California Style Slow Roasted Tri-Tip Steak Sandwich, which is also available as a full steak. The Spicy Jumbo Shrimp lives up to its name therefore if you are not one to appreciate the spices of life, then I suggest you let those who do, enjoy it instead. I recognize Steak House’s signature hot sauce in it, along with mayonnaise and a hint of curry as its key ingredient, which is the one thing that sets its taste apart. The huge shrimps are drenched in this concoction and served on a stylish margarita glass. It was so good; I almost didn’t want to share mine. From what we’ve learned from the staff, it’s fast becoming a bestseller.
Meanwhile, the BBQ California Tri-Tip Steak Sandwich was a new addition to their menu that I was eager to try, mainly because I’ve been craving for an awesome sandwich for weeks now. It comes in a six-inch loaf bread embracing the thinly sliced beef that’s been soaked in their rich, sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. The full, hand-carved steak version is just as filling, as their Premium Certified Angus Beef has been slow roasted and seared over the grill before serving – similar to the California-style of cooking Tri-Tip Steak, hence the name. I can never recall a time when I left this restaurant unsatisfied. They continue to deliver good food that’s earned the trust of thousands of people. At their rate of a loyal following, credible service and an ambition to keep an enthusiastic and engaging menu, Steak House is sure to stay for another 25 years and more.
