Under the patronage of the General Culture Authority, H.H. Princess Noura bint Faisal Al Saud announced the launch of the official Saudi Fashion Week, from October 21-25, 2018, at Al Faisaliah Hotel and Al Faisaliah Tower in Riyadh.
H.H. Princess Noura Bint Faisal Al Saud, founder of Global Fashion House and the Saudi Fashion Community, said: “This project that comes under the patronage of the General Culture Authority aims to implement the Vision 2030 in positioning the Kingdom on the international map of fashion and design. Such valuable support is instrumental in our quest to develop the creative sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, not only on the creative and cultural level, but also by giving access to foreign brands and talent to invest in the country, providing them with the right tools and platform.”
In its quest to create and support a Saudi design and fashion ecosystem, the Saudi Fashion Week is launching Princess Noura Bint Faisal Al Saud’s “Saudi Top Emerging Designers” program, an initiative that aims to support new and upcoming Saudi design talent by giving them the opportunity to present their collections across the Saudi Fashion Week platform.
Commenting on this initiative, H.H. Princess Noura Bint Faisal Al Saud said: “This is only the first step of many initiatives and plans that we will be implementing to promote Saudi creative talent in fashion and design. The magic of fashion week is in the fusion of great creative moments – runway shows, inspired creations and the discovery of talented up-and-coming designers. Fashion is the ultimate manifestation of culture in one of its most creative form. It has the power to connect people and bring these moments to life”.
The Saudi Fashion Week will be joining forces with ITP Group to host the Grazia Middle East Style Awards KSA in its first edition. The prestigious awards event sees fashion’s most fabulous come together to acknowledge and celebrate those who have made unparalleled contributions to the industry at large over the past year.
