Saudi Design Week has gathered over 60 international and regional exhibitors from 4-8 October 2017 at the APEX Convention Center, King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, Riyadh.
SDW has tasked innovative brands and forward thinking designers to explore the theme of “Design in Motion”. The result is a creative festival that celebrates great design, dynamism, purposeful aesthetics, and interactive projects enthralled creatives and the general public alike. The fourth edition Saudi Design Week combined both established brands and emerging designers. Their inspiring designs and challenging content made the fourth year of Saudi Design Week a resounding success, creating a moment in the Saudi design scene. The theme for 2017 explored the idea of design in motion as it refers to various disciplines and periods of time.
Participants were asked to explore the notion of motion in design either through the process of design, kinetic design or design and sports. The fourth year of Saudi Design Week was incredibly well received by the press as well as the general public furthermore widening the importance and universal relevance of design. This year’s event welcomed its largest audience with over 20,000 visitors throughout the course of the week. After a successful four years run, the Saudi Design Week 2018 preparations are in full swing and will be back in October 2018.
