As you walk into Rovetta Café, you are immediately greeted by the warm aroma of coffee and the light scent of the array of sweet treats. The natural light and stylish, minimalist interiors offer a cozy space to bring your laptop and work or meet friends. There is even a small selection of games to make your visit memorable and fun. Located in the bustling and convenient area next to the Marriott Hotel in the DQ, Rovetta Café is well worth the visit as the tastes and flavors of Northern Italy come to Riyadh and the DQ.
The young Saudi owner, Rahaf Yousef, began selling treats and sweets on Instagram to her friends as a teenager with the encouragement and help of her mother. As her success grew, her family then supported her aspirations to open her own café which is Rovetta today. Rahaf proudly shares that her menu has many treats full of different ingredients, but the most important ingredient is that “everything is made with love”. Her personal investment in developing her menu shows the commitment to quality ingredients and happy customers.
The café features a small but delectable selection of treats that are all completely homemade. Catering to some dietary needs, they even offer some gluten free options.
A standout on the menu is the fresh San Sebastian cake. Not too sweet, super moist, fluffy, and drizzled in a handmade chocolate sauce, it makes a perfect accompaniment to their coffee menu of three coffee bean choices from El Salvador, Columbia, and Ethiopia. The coffee is prepared for smoothness and served at just the right temperatures.
Tiramisu, a global Italian favorite, is another main feature of Rovetta’s menu. Made with a fluffy, lightly sweetened, and smooth cream, the overall taste is a lovely mix of rich cream and delicate cappuccino and distinctive dulce de leche flavors.
Made to rival any luxury restaurant, the French classic crème brulee is decadent and delightful. The top caramelized shell is thin and the texture pairs perfectly with the silky and effortless vanilla scented custard.
Other sweet treats to try include classic pecan tarts, almond cake, pecan praline brownies, chia pudding, and almond biscotti. The diversity of flavors on offer means there is something for everyone.
Indulging Riyadh’s incredible love of coffee, Rovetta has hot and cold favorites including the classic latte, cortado, espresso, cappuccino, and the popular flat white. For those hot days, order it cold or try the iced batch brew or the ice drip.
In a market of many commercial options, Rovetta Café is owned and operated by an ambitious, young, Saudi female that has an eye for quality and a personal affection for the customers of her small business. Rovetta makes a perfect addition to the DQ as an example of local entrepreneurship meeting the diversity of the DQ community.
