The Australian Trade and Investment Commission in cooperation with the Australian Embassy gave us a Taste of Australia that we will never forget. A showcase of premium Australian food products was hosted by the Australian Embassy last December as the first of many Taste of Australia events in the Gulf region.
Organizations such as the Horticulture Innovation Australia, Meat & Livestock Australia, Dairy Australia and the State Government of Victoria partnered with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) to facilitate this knowledge sharing and networking experience to interested sectors of Saudi Arabia’s food and beverage industry. The Australian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Ralph King commenced the evening with a welcome speech in Arabic that showed off his impressive language skills. He continued on in English as he gave the floor to the executive chefs Tarek Ibrahim and Tim Hollands to share a few words about signature Australian ingredients. They then invited everyone to enjoy the dishes that they have prepared for the night.
Live cooking stations within the embassy grounds made for a very interactive gathering. They featured the finest Australian beef and cheeses as the main highlight of their trade products. With this introduction, they hope to integrate more of their commodities in the Saudi Arabian market.
