Club DQ Living ushered in its first Empower Mornings event of 2026 on February 7, gathering members of Riyadh’s diplomatic and international community for a thoughtful conversation on the future of sustainability. Held at the elegant Wadi Restaurant in Laysen Valley, the morning carried the theme “The Future is Sustainable” and set the tone for a year of purposeful dialogue.
Organized in collaboration with Taiba, Dur Communities, and Laysen Valley, the event convened distinguished experts who are shaping Saudi Arabia’s sustainability landscape. The panel featured Dr. Orn Supaphol, Ph.D., Chief Technical Officer at Saudi Desert Control; Professor Mohammad Nurunnabi, UNESCO Chair on Education for Sustainable Development; and Dr. Reem Al Turki, Founder of Planet Kind and Co‑Founder of 5 Estidama, who also moderated the discussion. More than 45 guests attended, reflecting the community’s growing interest in environmental stewardship.

The conversation explored the practical “green skills” that households, schools, and communities across Riyadh can adopt to support the Kingdom’s sustainability goals. Dr. Orn shared insights from her pioneering work in transforming desert land into fertile, productive soil—an innovation with profound implications for the region’s environmental resilience.
Professor Mohammad and Dr. Reem highlighted the sustainability pillars of Vision 2030, emphasizing how individuals can translate national ambitions into everyday action. A lively Q&A followed, underscoring the audience’s genuine engagement and curiosity about how to contribute meaningfully to Saudi Arabia’s sustainability journey.
