May 3, 1791 marked the historical transformation of Poland for centuries to come, when one of the first modern constitutions in the world was signed as the fundamental law of the Republic of Poland, based on respect for freedom and justice. On this significant occasion, the Polish Embassy organized a reception in the Diplomatic Quarter to celebrate the achievements that have been made over the centuries of implementation of this historical document.
The evening also celebrated special dates in Poland’s modern history, including the 25th anniversary of NATO membership, the 20th anniversary of EU membership, and Flag Day. On this significant occasion, Ambassador of Poland H.E. Robert Rostek gave a remarkable speech.
“The Polish Constitution, as one of the first written pieces of legislation, reflects the ideas of equality, humanity, and justice, symbolizing spiritual and moral renewal after all the hardships Polish witnessed. Speaking of Saudi-Polish ties, I would like to share 365 photographs as evidence of our year-long activities in the Kingdom, reciprocal visits, active projects, and new ideas that have yet to emerge. This is an excellent confirmation of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Poland.”
H.E. Rostek said that the events of the past year show that business and political cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Poland is developing very quickly and productively, confirming that both countries always have something to exchange and offer each other. This sets the stage for more visits and projects in the next 365 days.
H.E. Robert Rostek shared another exciting news that direct flights between Riyadh and Warsaw will begin in June 2024, which will intensify diplomatic, political, cultural and, most importantly, human ties. Ambassador Rostek concluded his remarks by expressing his gratitude to all guests present, with reflections on the importance of peace and support for all those suffering around the world.
