The Turkish Embassy in Riyadh organized the traditional Spring Festival to celebrate the delightful coming of spring last March 5, 2022. They welcomed the coming of spring or in Turkish, “nevruz,” that symbolizes the beginning of a new season after two years of COVID-19 restrictions. Turkish Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Fatih Ulusoy, along with the Ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan inaugurated the festival where visitors had the chance to spend a good time and enjoy the festival that was bustling with activities.
The festival offered countless shopping and dining opportunities. A mini bazaar was held that had the vibes of Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar. A variety of high quality goods such as hand-painted ceramic plates, ceramic, or copper Turkish coffee set, jewelry, and handmade health and beauty products and soaps were displayed. They also made sure that visitors get their souvenirs from a wide selection of authentic and truly interesting souvenirs.The eye-catching traditional tent (Kyrgyz Yurt) gave visitors the feel of Central Asia’s nomadic vibes.
From classic Turkish Çay and golden crusty simit to the must-try Turkish kebab, visitors enjoyed mouthwatering traditional Turkish delicacies, including döner, köfte, baklava, and dondurma, a unique Turkish ice cream. Turkish music was also played, prizes were given, and everyone had a memorable time.
The Turkish Spring Festival was quite a vibrant event where the coming of spring was truly well-celebrated!
